A Book Review: Queen Charlotte by Shonda Rhimes/Julia Quinn - NO SPOILERS

Would I recommend this book: If you're a fan of the Bridgerton series then this is a must. If you are a fan of historical fiction then absolutely. And if you just want something sweet and cute to read then even more so.

I don't even know what to say about the book to be completely honest. I just finished it, and the ending was so bittersweet.

I did really enjoy reading though, and I thought it was good. Queen Charlotte's character really shined in the book. I loved how headstrong and fearless she was. Reading her chapters/from her POV was a joy !!

And George was written beautifully too !! His chapters made me understand more of what was going on in his head and what he was actually feeling. It was so complicated and messy, and I really felt for him.

I think my favourite part of the book has to be right at the beginning, where he's standing up to his mother about Charlotte's skin colour, despite not even knowing her.

And also the part where Charlotte says 'I will stand with you between the heavens and the Earth', but that goes without saying xD.

Sometimes, the writing did feel a little dull, and I feel like the time skips were a little unclear, too, but it wasn't anything too major. The book was still enjoyable nonetheless.

It also would've been interesting to see Reynolds's POV since he's so close to the King and knows him best. But also, the book is about Charlotte, so I understand why he wasn't included. It still would've been cool, though.

All in all, it was a really good book and a must for Bridgerton fans. I also really liked the historical aspects of it too, it's amazing to see/think how far psychology and mental health have come since then.
