Get to Know Me <33

Hiya everyone :)) Welcome to my new blog where I talk about all things books and more!!

This post is going to be a short introductory post for you guys to get to know me a little bit more so I'll keep this quite brief and answer some FAQs.

What is my name?

• My name is Aziza

How old am I?/When is my birthday?

• Right now, I am 18 years old, butttt I turn 19 in exactly 10 days. My birthday is 17th April and I was born in 2004 :)

Why did I decide to start a blog?

• I've always loved books and reading and I thought this would be a good outlet for all my thoughts and feelings regarding the books I read. It'll also be quite helpful in keeping track of all the books I read and what I thought about them too!

• I also love waffling, so this seemed like a really good idea for me. Tell people you talk to yourself and they'll think you belong in some sort of ward, but tell them you have a personal blog and they think you're cool (*cool sunglasses emoji*)

What is my favourite book?

• Funny you ask that actually (no one's asked that I'm talking to myself), I actually made a post about my all-time faves on Instagram, so go check it out here (also feel free to follow me while you're there, thanks xx)

What is my go-to genre?

• I am an absolute sucker for historical fiction. You write one and I'm there for it. I also love me a good book that's post-colonial. I don't know if that is too niche or if that's even niche at all, but it's what I like. Also, I'm quite into classics and contemporary/literary fiction. Those 3 (4 ish) genres are definitely my go-tos and 99% of the books I buy are from those 3.

• Fun fact, I also read/collect manga!

What genre have I never read a book from?

• I feel like I read a bit of everything. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I'm not too keen on books that are pure romance (please don't come for me I have a family that somewhat loves me), so I rarely read those. I've read sci-fi, psychological thrillers, horror (albeit horror for young adults/teens), historical fiction, literary, classics, contemporary, and fantasy. Hmmm I don't actually know. I know I've probably missed a ton but oh wells.

What genre would I like to read more of?

• 100% psychological thrillers. I've read a couple and I loved every single one. I need good recommendations though, so if you have any you like, dm me with your faves!!

• I'd also like to read more historical fiction and that's because I love it and cannot get enough xD

What are my hobbies?

• Well other than reading I like sports (I say sports I only watch football and F1) and recently I've got into the gym which is actually really fun. It's Ramadhan right now so I haven't been in a while due to my fasting and I kind of miss it :((

• I also do love a bit of clay sculpting and clay painting - it's incredibly relaxing and I always get something cute or cool out of it too!

• I feel like I dabble in a bit of everything, this is a common theme actually now that I think about it.

And here are some quickfire favourites:

• Favourite colour - I love all colours but some honourable mentions are lilac, sage, periwinkle, black, yellow and green in all forms.

• Favourite season - Spring or Autumn or Winter (just not Summer basically)

• Favourite animal - I really like cats (although they scare me, all animals, in general, scare me to be honest even though I like them). I also really like calves (the baby cow not the muscles). They're so adorable and cute and OMGG lambs. Lambs are so fluffy and adorable too.

• Favourite genre - Historical fiction

• Favourite number - I don't have one, but like most humans, I lean towards the number 7. also number 7 because SUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I think that should be enough and I hope that's okay (it better be *knife emoji knife emoji knife emoji*). I'm lowkey sick of talking about myself so I'm gonna go ahead and sign off.
